What Chives Research is
Modeled, sourced, and openly graded college football analysis, aimed at the games the market watches least.
Chives Research covers college football betting the way an equity-research desk covers a stock: a clear thesis, the numbers behind it, the case against it, and a track record kept in the open. Most betting content is loud, unaccountable, and chases the same marquee games everyone already prices efficiently. We do the opposite. We fish where attention is thin, we show our work, and we grade every pick against the closing line whether it wins or loses.
Why overlooked games
The biggest games draw the sharpest money, which grinds their numbers close to fair. The edge lives further down the schedule, in the weeknight and Group-of-Five matchups where fewer people are looking. Information asymmetry is larger there, and a disciplined read is worth more. That focus is the whole premise.
How we work
Every game is projected two independent ways and compared to the market, and a pick only counts when both projections agree. The part that matters most is that we weight every edge by how competitive the game projects to be, because a points edge is worthless in a game headed for a blowout. The full approach is on the methodology page.
The honest part
The edges here are small, and most bettors lose. This is analysis and commentary, not a guarantee and not advice. What makes it credible instead of noise is transparency: every pick is published before kickoff and graded afterward on our track record, closing line value included. That discipline is the product.
